Agas Font (2026)

Designed primarily by (with contributions from others under the auspices of the Dutch Type Library), Agas is not a "modern" interpretation of an old style. It is a historical reconstruction, built from direct measurements of original metal type specimens. For centuries, a large group of elegant old-style serifs were misattributed to the French punchcutter Claude Garamond (c. 1490–1561).

In the world of typography, most digital fonts trace their lineage back to a single foundry or a famous type designer. The Agas font is a delightful exception.
