Here’s a short story based on that idea: Survive
And Neha, who once broke into the world’s most secure networks, had to learn the hardest skill of all: letting others lead.
“This isn’t a power cut,” she whispered.
The cook asked, “So what do we do?”
Neha stared at her phone. No signal. No Wi-Fi. No battery icon—just a flat, dead glass mirror reflecting her own panicked face.
She grabbed a paper map—the old kind her grandfather used—and a Swiss Army knife. Then she ran downstairs, where seven strangers had already gathered in the lobby: a pregnant nurse, a retired army cook, a terrified child clutching a stuffed tiger, and others.
Neha unfolded the map. “We survive.”
