But Platinum isn't just about size. It is about the dictionary size. I set the dictionary to 256MB. It took three hours to compress, but the resulting entropy is a brick wall. You cannot peek inside a Platinum archive; you have to commit to extracting the whole thing. AES-256 is the law of the land. But platinum.7z uses the specific implementation found in the 7z container.
