Prahlad Maharaj (also known as Prahlada) is a saintly devotee of Lord Vishnu/Narayana from the Puranic tradition, most notably from the Bhagavata Purana (Srimad Bhagavatam). Despite being born to the demon king Hiranyakashipu, he is celebrated for his unwavering devotion ( bhakti ) and is often cited as the ideal example of a maha-bhagavata (great devotee).
