"Because you gave up," Mugen-Pegasus said, walking closer. "Seiya never gave up. Even with his Cloth shattered. Even with his blood on the floor. He got up. You? You deleted your cosmos when a lawyer told you to. That is not the way of Athena."
But a year ago, his masterpiece was struck by a cease-and-desist. Toei’s lawyers were relentless. Kenji didn't fight. He simply deleted the public repository, closed the forums, and vanished. The game became a myth, playable only on dusty hard drives and whispered-about in obscure Discord servers.
Kenji smiled. Then he opened his old project files, cracked his knuckles, and began to code. Not for Toei. Not for the fans. For the kid who still believed a fallen warrior could always stand back up.
Mugen-Pegasus threw another barrage of legal documents. Kenji didn't dodge. He opened his arms. The documents passed through him—because they were never real. The only real thing was the Cosmo.
The screen flickered. Suddenly, the mirror was gone. In its place was a 2D side-scrolling battlefield—the ruined Sanctuary of the 12 Temples. And standing in the center, clad in a dark, corrupted Pegasus Cloth that shimmered with glitched textures, was… himself.
He fell to his digital knees.

Kenji saw himself, but pixelated, rendered in the classic MUGEN engine style. His real reflection in the dark monitor glass overlapped with the digital one. The digital Kenji smiled—a smile Kenji wasn't making.
His finger hovered over the ‘N’ key. Then, he saw the timestamp of the post.
Kenji Tanaka was a ghost in the Saint Seiya fandom. While others debated power levels or painted armor variations, Kenji coded. He was the architect of Saint Seiya: Ultimate Cosmo , the most ambitious fan-made fighting game ever conceived. For three years, he poured his soul into it, crafting a digital sanctuary where every Bronze, Silver, Gold, and even God Cloth felt alive.
Kenji woke up at his desk. The command prompt was gone. The UC2_MUGEN folder was gone. But a single new file remained on his desktop: Athena_Exclamation.txt .
