In the digital age, the consumption of Bollywood cinema extends beyond the theater into everyday personal spaces, notably via smartphone and desktop wallpapers. This paper explores the correlation between the use of Bollywood actress wallpapers and the development of parasocial relationships (PSRs) with these celebrities. It argues that selecting an actress as a wallpaper functions as a narrative prosthesis—a visual anchor that extends and personalizes the romantic storylines audiences consume on screen.
