Shadow raised a hand. A Chaos Emerald appeared, but it was corrupted—a RAR file named Emerald.part01.rar .

The cursor blinked on an empty desktop. The only icon was a single, compressed folder: Leo looked at his keyboard

The world crashed.

He picked it up.

"Welcome to the NSP," Shadow said, his voice flat as a corrupted save file. "The Non-Standard Project. Every copy of Sonic X Shadow Generations is personalized. Yours… is the base game. The prototype. The one before patches, before reviews, before fun ."

WinRAR opened, but the file list was empty. Just one cryptic folder name: ./././././ He pressed 'S'

He landed on a fragmented level. Green Hill Zone, but the grass was dead. The checkpoints were Dreamcast VMUs, blinking "NO MEMORY." The skybox was a blue screen of death.

He double-clicked.
